Our Story

In the whirlwind of busy lives and the modern era of online dating, we found each other on Match.com—a far cry from meeting in the wild, as they say, but just as meaningful.

From our Match profiles, we knew we had plenty in common: kids, MBAs, careers in finance, and shared passions like tennis, biking, hiking, skiing, live music and reading (especially the news). But what made our connection special were the unexpected discoveries along the way.

Living in a city as big as Chicago, what are the odds that we were practically neighbors, living within walking distance of one another? The coincidences didn’t stop there: between us, we have five kids close in age, two Jakes, and four shared birthdays.

Our first date was truly unforgettable. Normally, spilling not one but two glasses of wine on your date is a definite deal killer. But thankfully for Ed, it was white wine at a rooftop bar on a hot summer day, so we were able to laugh it off and open the door to a great night getting to know each other. Our second date was going so well that we didn't want it to end. What started with a game of tennis in the morning turned into a marathon day of biking, brunch, a wine festival, live music in the park, and dinner. That day set the tone for the incredible journey we’ve shared ever since.

With so much compatibility and shared interests, our love has steadily grown as we have built a wonderful life together. We feel truly blessed every day to have found each other. And so, finally, this past August, on the tenth anniversary of our first date, Ed proposed in breathtaking Banff, Canada. It was the pinnacle of what we have been calling Maggie & Ed's Excellent Adventure.

We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you and can’t wait to share this special chapter of our story with the people we love most.
